Change of Command Memories Part II

D's Change of Command day dawned a gray and rainy day but it didn't dampen the festivities.
The ceremony was held aboard the USS Texas and despite a torrential downpour in the middle of the ceremony, all went well and D turned over command to CDR Bob Roncska .

Here is part two of D's Change of Command Photos...they really speak for themselves.

Riding over to the pre-COC reception...

Cramming eight kids and two grandmothers in an elevator!

Love this!

D's crew from the Texas stood at attention, even during the torrential rain storm.

Escorting family to our seating.

Ready to begin...

This picture is my favorite

My husband D...I am SO proud of him....for SO many reasons.
D honoring family for the sacrifices they made during his command.

D's mother receiving flowers from him for the sacrifices she made as a Navy mom.

Mrs. Bush is incredibly genuine and sincere....she is truly kind hearted and one of the loveliest ladies I have ever met....could not be a more classy lady.

D's final walk off the USS Texas....very emotional for all of us.

This is D's COB (Chief of the Boat)...BEST COB EVER, an amazing man, and good friend.

D really had an AMAZING crew...he had the highest respect for every man on his ship.

This is D's supply officer, who always kept the Texas stocked with ice cream for D...LOL!

rack room...I would not survive on a submarine.

D and I had the pleasure of visiting the USS Texas in it's new home port in Hawaii a couple of years ago with the Greater Houston Navy League and the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
We made some very special friends from Texas during D's command, and they continue to be like family to us. We LOVE Texas!

Hope you enjoyed looking back at D's special day!
