Isn't it S'well?

If you are like our family,
you have about 2,845 water bottles of various types
taking up a lot of precious real estate in the kitchen.
We have the Terves water bottles, the Camelbaks, and everything in-between.

Well here's the new frontrunner....

They come in a zillion colors....

And of COURSE you can monogram them....

I have to say these are AWESOME water bottles.
They keep cold drinks COLD for 24 hours,
as in "there is still ice in your water the next day"
and they keep hot beverages hot for 12 hours.
PERFECT when I'm dying for a hot cocoa at the November USNA tailgates!

My girls all have at least one of these SWELL S'well bottles
and you should too.
Here's the website....

And they also happen to sell them at Tweed
a darling shop in Richmond, Virginia where Caroline and Katherine work.
Check them out!

A Sandal Scandal.....Continued

A long, long time ago I posted about the Stephen Bonanno sandal scandal.
Check here to see my post.
Here I am two years past my order date and STILL no sandals.

I was contacted by the Attorney General of Florida over a year ago
after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
see here for the local news report

I filled out about ten pages of paperwork, including copies of my online order and receipts,
as well as copies of the thirty or so emails I had sent to their customer service,
and I waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.

Just when I thought all was lost,
Lisa from Stephan Bonanno sandals called me!
This was in May.
Yes, the infamous "Lisa" who never returns phone calls or answers the emails.
See here for a post from"Lisa"

Lisa said that they were slowly working through the orders and that mine was the next to be fulfilled.
She was calling because their monogramming machine had broken,
and would I accept a Palm Beach style instead of the monogrammed sandal.
YES.
She told me that I would have my order by the end of the week.
I was cautiously optimistic.

Good thing I was cautious.
I am still waiting.
As of this post, I have not received any part of my order.

And this is not a good sign....
It appears Mr. Bonanno has been arrested. Again.
see here for post

So I am leaving messages for "Lisa" again in hopes of getting a straight story
but as of today,
this remains a sandal scandal.

The Beloved Bermuda Bag

Who remembers Bermuda Bags?
They used to be considered a wardrobe staple in every "Preppy's" wardrobe,
but if you are a "true" preppy, it was...and still is a part of your handbag collection.

Back in the 1980's, deLanthe was the Bermuda Bag of choice,
but when they became the rage, many other shops sold their own version of the Bermuda Bag.
Here is a vintage deLanthe...

Lilly Pulitzer also used to make Bermuda Bags...
my daughters have the adorable mini Bermuda Bags
(I am saving them for my granddaughters...that I do not have yet...lol)

I still have the original Bermuda Bag that I got in high school...

This is my bag...with my only summer cover.

These are the only other covers I have left....a red wool, a navy corduroy, and a quilted mini print.

I have been looking all over for additional covers...
Ebay....but no luck.

kopacetick Bermuda Bag purse

Etsy has them...but not what I am looking for.

I need some summer colors...like PINK...
and then I got an email from one of my favorite online shops,
and look what was featured in their email...

You can buy the handles, which come with one cover,
or you can buy just the covers...and they will monogram for you!!!
They have many different cover colors and many monogram thread colors to choose from!

Sidenote....if you already have a Bermuda Bag,
make sure you measure the distance between the buttons to make sure these covers will fit.

I have no affiliation with The Pink Giraffe
other than the fact that they have a
FABULOUS selection of classically preppy merchandise!

Who still has their Bermuda Bag?

Here is my monogram...

Here are the answers to the questions Eva asked...

1. What is your favorite monogramming font?
Interlocking circle script is always a classic, and probably my favorite.

2.  "If it's not moving..."
then monogram it.

3. Which statement best describes you?
A- I have so many monogrammed items that it's hard to remember exactly how many I have.
B- 10 or more monogrammed items
C- 9 or less monogrammed items
Definitely A for me.

4.What item do you wish you owned with your monogram on it?
Hmmm...that's a hard one....probably sterling silver flatware with a monogram.

5. What is your favorite online monogramming company?
For cute clothing, I like Sweet Tea Monograms...
For housewares, it would be Mark and Graham.

6. What is your favorite monogrammed item you own?
I would have to say the monogrammed handkerchief
that my sweet husband, D, had delivered to me on our wedding day.

And here are my questions...
1. Do you follow "traditional" monogramming etiquette,
or do you follow "contemporary" monogramming etiquette?

2. What is the most outrageous thing you have monogrammed?

3. Have you ever regretted monogramming something?

4. What's your favorite monogram style?

5. At what age did you first discover your love of monograms?

I tag these fabulous bloggers
who also are monogram lovers...

Happy Monogramming!
